Erica 843
The main branch of the Erica family is headed by the foundation female ELCARA OF DRUMLISTER acquired as a calf in 1992 from Ann’s parents to establish the Drumcorn herd. She was sired by the New Zealand bred Waitapu Governor AB and is out of Elmaiden of Eastfield from Scotland.
She has bred six outstanding daughters and some two-thirds of the herd are direct descendants. All progeny of Elcara are named with the prefix El including Elast, Elest, Elist and Elene.
During a distinguished show career from 1994 to 2007 she won over thirty Championships including the prestigious Ulster Championship in 2002 and 2006. She also won championship honours at Antrim, Armagh, Castlewellan, Clogher Valley, Enniskillen, Lurgan, Newry, Omagh & Saintfield as well as Seven First Prize rosettes at the Royal Ulster Show.

A secondary branch of the Erica family was founded with the purchase of ERGESSA X53 OF BLELACK in 1998 at Perth.
She was sired by the Canadian bull Royal Added Value 19D and is out of Ergessa S43 of Blelack which is descended from a Harviestoun line via Buchaam.
She is breeding particularly well at Drumcorn and has produced two tremendous daughters DRUMCORN ERGESSA C265 and DRUMCORN ERGESSA E372 along with a number of outstanding sons including Drumcorn Edison F442 that won the Ulster Championship in 2008. All females in this line have been named Ergessa.

Mary of Blessington
This purely Irish family was established in the herd through the purchase of DRUMLISTER MARIE Z764 at the Drumlister Sale in 2001.
She was sired by Ballamanaugh Estefan - bred on the Isle of Man that won Junior Champion & Reserve Supreme Champion, Perth October 1996 – and was out of Millicent of Drumlister, a grand-daughter of the famous show cow Parkmeadow United.
In addition to some show success, including Reserve Champion Lurgan 2008, she bred several good females, including DRUMCORN MAGIC D302 and Drumcorn Madam F427 sold for £7,000 in 2007

Lady Ida
The most recent addition to the herd was made through the purchase of DRUMLISTER WILLOW (IMP), a member of the Lady Ida family to hopefully establish a third family at Drumcorn.
She has only produced one female in the herd so far but bred two heifers and one bull in her previous herds.
She has seen some show success winning Reserve Champion, Royal Ulster Show 2008 and Breed Champion at Lurgan & Enniskillen.
